i’m being a bit impatient with my beans. i pulled all of the kidney beans because some of them were getting brittle shells…a sign that they were ready, or so i thought. in fact, they should still be in the ground!
the correct way is to let them dry on the vine till all are brown, including the leaves. i really should learn to listen to my neighbour tony.
that said, all is well and i have shelled them this morning for a nice harvest of 1.7 litre of beans (6 cups). i’ll dry them some more before storing. a bowl of chilli sounds good right about now.
