evil weevils…

after a 2 week heat wave my fava beans are under attack from the pea and bean weevil Sitona lineatus (Order: Coleoptera; Family: Curculionidae).

any suggestions would be appreciated. i’m pulling plants that appear to be heavily infested and thinning a bit…my plants are already 24cm and well established.

my bigger concern is the risk they will migrate to my pea patch which is adjacent to the fava beans.

pea and bean weevil
the nast beast!

a very good article here
